Job Details

Even though it is simply referred to as the "LINE app", there are separate teams handling each feature, such as chat rooms and the official account app. 
The various teams work on tasks such as the following:

  • Developing new features, prototyping UX improvements and investigating/fixing bugs for messaging, chat, groups, etc.
  • Developing to enhance the experience within the LINE application by leveraging the latest technologies of Android OS/iOS.
  • Refactoring code to strive for improved development efficiency and app quality.

Required Skills

  • Experience in programming with Kotlin/Java or Swift/Objective-C
  • Basic understanding of Android or iOS app development, or a willingness to learn
  • Basic knowledge of computer science (data structures and algorithms)
  • Experience in version management tools (Git, GitHub)

Duration of the Internship

2024/08/19-2024/10/31 (Any 6 weeks)

*In principle, 5 days a week, excluding Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays.
*The standard working hours are from 10:00 to 18:45, including a 1-hour break.
*Actual working days and hours will be discussed and determined upon join.

Internship Format & Location

Online

*As a rule, working from locations other than home is not allowed when working remotely.
*Participants are responsible for preparing their own network environment for remote work.

Compensation

  • Hourly wage of 2,600 yen
  • Provision of a PC
  • Reimbursement for transportation costs when commuting to the office (with a cap)

Application Requirements

  • Currently enrolled students without any full-time employment experience (excluding high school students)
  • Individuals eligible to work in Japan
  • Those with a network environment at home suitable for work
  • Individuals residing in Japan during the internship period

*Your preferred department (position) will be confirmed at the time of the test.
*Interviews at the desired department (position) will be arranged based on the test results and your preferences.

Application Deadline

Until May 20th (Monday) at 10:00

*The coding test will be distributed after the deadline.

Notes

  • When submitting the web test, you will be asked to provide multiple answers for your desired JD (position).
  • You can only apply for multiple positions within the same course.
