Job Details
We are conducting research and development on technologies to distinguish between AI-generated fake images and human-generated images (photos or illustrations). While the following themes are envisioned, we are open to flexibility and will adjust according to the candidate's expertise in discussion with a mentor:
- Explainable AI (XAI) for fake image detection, providing justifications for decisions
- Fake image detection using 3D reconstruction techniques from images
- Research on likelihood estimation in image generation models such as diffusion models and flow models
Depending on the theme and outcomes, we aim to submit papers for publication.
Required Experience/Skills
- Basic knowledge of Linux
- Experience with PyTorch implementation
- English reading comprehension skills necessary for literature surveys
Preferred Experience/Skills
- Knowledge of image processing techniques such as frequency filtering
- Understanding of 3D reconstruction technologies like Gaussian splatting
- Understanding and implementation experience with density transition models (e.g., diffusion models, flow-based models)
- Experience in writing academic papers in English

Duration of the Internship

*In principle, 2 days a week, excluding Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays.
*The standard working hours are from 10:00 to 18:45, including a 1-hour break.
*Details will be discussed and determined upon join.
Internship Format & Location
Hybrid
*This internship will follow a hybrid working style, primarily remote with some in-office work.
*Details will be discussed with the host organization (position) upon join.
*The office location for in-office attendance for this position is the Kioicho Office.
Compensation
- Hourly wage of 2,600 yen
- Provision of a PC
- Reimbursement for transportation and accommodation costs when commuting to the office (with a cap)*

Application Requirements
- Currently enrolled students without any full-time employment experience (excluding high school students)
- Individuals who already possess a work visa for Japan
- Those with a network environment at home suitable for work
- Individuals residing in Japan during the internship period

*Interviews at the desired department (position) will be arranged based on the test results and your preferences.
