LY Corporation (hereinafter "the Company") today announced the launch of a new AI agent brand, "Agent i." Based on the concept of "AI for everyone, by your side, every day," the new brand integrates Yahoo! JAPAN’s "AI Assistant" and LINE’s "LINE AI" which have been provided to date. Agent i is an AI agent (web service) that can be accessed seamlessly with just one tap from both LINE and Yahoo! JAPAN. Users can resolve a wide range of questions and receive suggestions by interacting with Agent i via the services they use on a daily basis. In the future, the Company also plans to offer features that also support task management and execution.

Overview of Agent i
When users consult Agent i about various everyday questions and tasks—such as "I want a new home appliance" or "Create a model sightseeing itinerary for Kyoto"—Domain Agents specializing in different genres, integrated with LY Corporation’s wide range of services, organize information according to users’ interests and circumstances and suggest the most suitable options. This enables Agent i to support users’ decision-making smoothly while staying close to their daily lives. Currently, seven Domain Agents (including beta versions*) are available, such as "Shopping" for assisting with product selection, "Outings" for easily creating sightseeing model courses and plans, and "Weather" linked with Yahoo! JAPAN Weather. Going forward, the Company will gradually expand the range of supported domains and functions.
Characteristics of Agent i
1. Ease of use
An Agent i icon is displayed in each tab of LINE and next to the search window on Yahoo! JAPAN, enabling users to access Agent i with a single tap from the services they use every day. Without the need to input complex prompts, users can easily request the Agent i to perform tasks, and with an intuitive user experience, they can reach the information they need simply by tapping options tailored to their interests.
2. Accurate information and optimized recommendations
By appropriately utilizing proprietary data obtained from over 100 services offered by LY Corporation, Agent i will provide diverse options and opportunities for new discoveries. In addition, a memory feature is planned for release by June 2026, enabling optimized responses and assistance based on users’ activity and settings, while respecting privacy. Furthermore, more accurate and reliable information will be provided through Agent i by leveraging information from LINE Official Account—a service used by more than one million companies and stores—and integrating it with Agent i in the future. This will enable the provision of optimized recommendations tailored to each user’s situation.
3. Execution capability
A feature enabling the handling of complex tasks on behalf of users is scheduled for release around June 2026. Going forward, Agent i will serve as a trusted companion, executing tasks tailored to users’ needs through a wide range of Domain Agents. Furthermore, through integration with LINE Official Account, the Company plans to provide functionality that seamlessly supports the entire process—from reservations and purchases to follow-up—while ensuring safety.

In addition to the above, the Company plans to roll out "LINE OA AI Mode" starting around summer 2026, enabling businesses and stores to easily create AI agents on LINE Official Account. This feature makes it possible to deliver optimal communication tailored to users’ needs and circumstances. Furthermore, "Agent i Biz," an AI agent that provides end-to-end support from strategy formulation to execution, is planned for release in August 2026.
Further agentic evolution is also planned for both Yahoo! JAPAN and LINE, centered around Agent i. This includes planned enhancements to search, notifications, and Topics on the Yahoo! JAPAN Top Page. New experiences will also be provided on the LINE app, including a "Mood Analysis" feature that analyzes users’ relationships with their friends and suggests conversations based on previous chat messages, as well as optimization of the Home tab.
