Introduction
We have established this Code of Conduct for Technology Events (hereinafter “Code of Conduct”) to ensure that everyone participating in LY Corporation’s technology events can have a safe and meaningful experience.
Note: This Code of Conduct is based on the LY Corporation Group Code of Conduct and will be revised from time to time by LY Corporation.
Participants include everyone involved in events and communities (e.g. visitors, speakers, judges, event staff, hosting companies, sponsors, and other related parties).
Behavior expected of participants
- Do not engage in harassment.
- Act with respect for others.
- Comply with laws and regulations, including not infringing on rights such as intellectual property, trademarks, or designs.
- Do not engage in disruptive behavior, such as destructive or intimidating language/actions, or bringing weapons or dangerous items.
- Follow the instructions of staff.
Anti-harassment policy
Harassment will not be tolerated under any circumstances. If any violations occur, measures such as warnings or requests to leave will be implemented.
Making someone feel uncomfortable can be considered harassment. This includes offensive remarks, behavior, expressions, and discrimination regarding the following.
- Gender: Gender differences, gender identity, sexual orientation
- Body: Appearance, physical characteristics, age, disabilities, illnesses
- Culture: Nationality, language, religion, political affiliation, social status
- Disruptive behavior: Inappropriate contact, stalking, obstruction, threats, coercion, selling, solicitation, mediation, unwanted photography or recording, and other actions that deviate from the event’s purpose.
If you witness inappropriate behavior
If you feel harassed or witness inappropriate behavior, please contact a member of staff nearby or contact us via the email address provided for each event.
Points to consider when making posts on social media, etc.
- Posts unrelated to the purpose of the event
Refrain from posting anything on social media or in live comments that are unrelated to the event's purpose, such as about another person’s appearance or looks. Since you are participating in a technology event, we encourage you to join in with discussions or questions that are related to technology.
- Photography and screen recording
Even in events where photography and screen recording are permitted, if other people or other people’s copyrighted works is included in the photo or recording, ensure you obtain permission from the individuals or copyright holders. If you're unsure whether photography or recording is allowed, ask a nearby staff member.
- Gender sensitivity
Inappropriate posts are not limited to sexual expressions. Stereotyping, such as suggesting how men or women should act, etc. can also lead to discomfort.
- Other people's copyrighted material (e.g. photos, videos, material collections, music, characters)
Even a single photograph taken with a smartphone is the copyrighted work of the person who took it.
Therefore, double check that the materials you use do not infringe any copyrights.
Even well-known free stock collections have their own terms of use.
Be sure to check if there are any conditions regarding usage or scope, etc. and obtain usage permissions as necessary to use copyrighted materials correctly.
Avoid using copyrighted material if there is any uncertainty about whether it is permissible to use it.
