Update on “Responding to Law Enforcement Agencies”

LY Corporation (the "Company") publishes its policy on responding to requests from law enforcement agencies for the disclosure of user information held by the Company, based on relevant laws and regulations, in "Responding to Law Enforcement Agencies." On this occasion, taking into account recent crime trends, etc., the Company has added specific examples in its law enforcement response policy following consultation with external experts.*1 The main updates are as follows:

 

(1) Based on the latest crime trends, “special fraud schemes involving individuals posing as police officers conducting an investigation” have been added to the list of specific examples of crimes with significant social impact, for which disclosure may be deemed necessary and the Company may exceptionally consider responding to a disclosure request.

(2) The Company’s response when it becomes aware of cases involving a high probability of fraudulent use of its e-commerce services, as well as information on the relevant laws and regulations, has been added.
