• Information on the status of user data disclosure requests received from law enforcement agencies, etc. has been released as a regular transparency initiative.  

In an effort to enhance corporate transparency, LY Corporation (the “Company”) periodically discloses information on how it handles the data it receives in the course of maintaining and operating its services. In the LY Corporation Transparency Report for the first half of 2024, the Company has disclosed information on the status of user data disclosure requests received from law enforcement agencies and other parties.

In principle, the Company will not provide user data to any third parties without the user's consent. Furthermore, the Company will not respond to such requests from third parties, nor will it in any way support any activities that unfairly threaten the users’ human rights, such as wiretapping or censorship by governments. This policy applies to all of the services provided by the Company. 

Having said that, as a leading internet company with a large user base, the Company has the social responsibility to respond to such government requests to apprehend suspects of crimes using the Company’s services, mitigate damages of such crimes, save human lives, and prevent such crimes. Therefore, as an exception, only where permitted by the relevant laws and regulations, and appropriate after strict examination, there are cases in which the Company will respond to the requests from law enforcement agencies, etc., limited only to the extent necessary. 

In order to strictly protect the privacy of the users and to fulfill its social responsibility, the Company believes that it is essential to provide transparency in how often it receives and responds to requests from law enforcement agencies, thus makes a regular disclosure of its transparency reports.
