Introducing LYP Premium, a New Membership Program Now Available from LY Corporation

LY Corporation (“LYC” for short) is pleased to announce that we began offering a new monthly membership program called LYP Premium on Wednesday, November 29. Renaming and expanding on our previous Yahoo! JAPAN Premium service, LYP Premium provides new benefits for LINE in addition to existing benefits for Yahoo! JAPAN.
※The program is available only in Japan.

LYP Premium is a new monthly membership program that provides various benefits to make the LINE app even more fun and convenient for users, on top of the many benefits already available through Yahoo! JAPAN Premium. New benefits include unlimited usage of over 12 million eligible stickers through LINE Sticker Premium at no extra charge to LYP Premium members^*1 (this service normally costs 240 yen (tax included) per month). At the same time, members can also save videos and original-quality photos in albums on the LINE app, which normally only allows for the upload of compressed images. These are just a few examples of the many new benefits that make the LINE app more convenient than ever before. On top of that, LYP Premium users can continue to use over 15 different types of valuable benefits on Yahoo! JAPAN, including an additional 2% in PayPay Points rewards on purchases made through Yahoo! JAPAN Shopping, exclusive PayPay coupons and much more.^*2 

LYP Premium is priced the same as Yahoo! JAPAN Premium, at 508 yen (tax included) per month (this price applies to members who sign up online). At the same time, users can now also sign up through the LINE app and pay subscription fees through in-app payments. In this case, the monthly subscription fee is 650 yen per month (tax included).^*3 Existing members of Yahoo! JAPAN Premium will have their membership automatically carried over to LYP Premium, so there is no need to sign up again.

With an eye toward improving the level of service that LYP Premium will provide in the future, we are currently considering various additional benefits to take advantage of synergy throughout the LY Corporation Group in order to provide users with a more premium experience and greater value than ever before.

*1: LYP Premium members can enjoy the Basic Course of LINE Sticker Premium. Those who already use the LINE Sticker Premium service are advised to cancel this service prior to signing up for LYP Premium in order to avoid double billing.
*2: Please note that linkage of LINE and Yahoo! JAPAN accounts is necessary in order to access all of the benefits for LINE and Yahoo! JAPAN. Further, linkage of PayPay and Yahoo! JAPAN accounts is also necessary in order to access PayPay Coupons and other benefits associated with PayPay. LYP Premium membership benefits are subject to change and/or discontinuation without prior notice. Please refer to the LYP Premium website for the details of benefits currently provided to members.
*3: SoftBank mobile subscribers who have completed smart login settings, Y!mobile subscribers who have completed the initial Y!mobile service registration process, and holders of PayPay Gold credit cards (excluding family cards) who have linked their PayPay accounts with their Yahoo! JAPAN IDs may use LYP Premium at no additional charge.

Linking LINE & Yahoo! JAPAN Accounts

When joining LYP Premium through the LINE app, one has access to LINE benefits upon concluding the registration process; however, it is necessary to link one's LINE and Yahoo! JAPAN accounts before one can take advantage of Yahoo! JAPAN benefits.^*5 

In order to join LYP Premium online, it is first necessary to link one's LINE and Yahoo! JAPAN accounts. Existing members of Yahoo! JAPAN Premium may continue to use existing Yahoo! JAPAN benefits, as their membership will automatically be carried over to LYP Premium. However, in order to take advantage of LINE benefits, it is first necessary to link their LINE and Yahoo! JAPAN accounts. 

Linking LINE and Yahoo! JAPAN accounts not only allows users to take advantage of the various benefits of LYP Premium, but also allows for smoother coordination of information between the services provided by LYC. After linking accounts, users can share plans that they have input into Yahoo! JAPAN Calendar with friends on LINE, receive custom-tailored notifications about the topics that interest them, manage registered user data across multiple accounts, and more.

LYC handles all user data across linked accounts in an appropriate manner that is consistent with the LY Corporation Privacy Policy ^*6, utilizing this data in order to optimize and improve existing services, develop new services, distribute advertisements and other such purposes.
